The Maille Headband
Our Maille print is based on European 4-in-1 riveted mail (colloquially, chainmail), a military staple from the Iron and Middle Ages all through the 16th century. Look closely and you'll notice that the design contains slightly off-color "maker's rings." In the Middle Ages a smith might weave a stamped ring with his insignia into a piece as a sort of signature on his work. These rings were often made of bronze or brass to differentiate from the steel links. Proudly wear your original Lorica maille wherever you go!
We're committed to reducing waste as much as possible, so these headbands pieces are made from the leftover yardage from our legging production to make the most out of each bolt of fabric. Keep the sweat or the sun off your brow with moisture-wicking technology and UPF 50 sun protection, given that these bad boys are constructed from our legging fabric and feature the same nifty properties. ;)
